Hi! I'm Satheara,
a DONA trained doula committed to helping birthing people and their support team create the most positive birthing experience possible. As your birth doula, I will support you and your supportpartner physically, emotionally, and without judgement. I will help educate and prep you so that you go into birth feeling safe, strong, and empowered. Together we can create a beautiful birth experience!
The Benefits of Having a Doula
As a birth doula, I offer continuous emotional and physical support to you and your partner during labor and the immediate postpartum period. I offer education during your pregnancy so that you walk into the birth room knowing exactly what can happen. Being prepared and knowing what to expect will allow you and your support person/team to feel empowered in the birthing room.
Research has found that compared with birthing people who had no continuous support, people with companions (such as a doula) who were neither on the hospital staff nor in the woman’s social network were:
› 28% less likely to have a cesarean section
› 31% less likely to use synthetic oxytocin to speed up labor
› 9% less likely to use any pain medication
› 34% less likely to rate their childbirth experience negatively
